My very, very good friend Mariann, besides being one of the folks I love to hang around with best, is lucky enough to have parents who I adore as well. I think it's that they remind me so much of my own, without me having to live with them! AND, they're Mets fans, so I gotta love them.
Anyway, Mariann's family had a small party to celebrate her parent's 50th Anniversary. I was honored when she asked me to do the cake. Mariann's cake was carrot cake, with an apricot filling, and covered with cream cheese frosting. Since it is a golden anniversary, all the vines and leaves, and gold sequins on the sides (edible, of course) completed the theme. Mariann swiped her mom & dad's original wedding cake topper from their china cabinet - thanks, Jean!
