Just Beachy!

This was a birthday cake, but I would never reveal the lady's age! This cake is chocolate, with a layer of cherries, and a layer of devil's food pudding. The trunk of my palm tree is a pretzel rod, with chocolate chip coconuts. Everything on this cake is edible.

Car Cake

This cake was fun to make, and was for a very worthwhile cause. I donated this cake to a fundraiser being held by our bowling alley and a local classic car club, to raise funds for a fellow-bowling league member who has been diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's disease. The fundraiser was lots of fun, with bowling, face painting, music, raffles, and many cars to take a look at outside. Turnout was great, and everyone had a fun time.

Girl Scouts

I created this cake for my daughter's Girl Scout Troop's moving up ceremony. The girls are bridging from Junior Scouts to Cadettes. So the girls on the cake also went up in size and color rank. The inside, true to GS lore, is s'mores flavored - chocolate cake, marshmallow & graham cracker crumb filling. Lots of pre-teens on sugar highs after this one!

Housewarming

This is the first of my cakes to take an interstate trip! One of my co-workers wanted a carrot cake to celebrate his parents' new house in North Carolina. So this cake travelled with him from NY to NC. But it survived well, and at the end, there were no leftovers. Strangely, my favorite aspect of this cake is the garage door. Maybe cause I knew the cake was travelling??? hmmmm.

Lighthouse

I love the look of this cake. I made the seashells out of dark chocolate, and they decorate the base of the cake too. But I think it's the blue water that draws my eye in the brown of the chocolate cake and the beige of the graham cracker "sand." Makes me want to open my beach chair!
